Supports ASPAC
Soilmaster has been a member of ASPAC since 1990 until 2003, being a
foundation member (Corporate), with our managing director being a member
of the Executive for four years and on the soil and plant results accreditation
committee for four years, assisting in the long term development of the
operating principles of the Organisation.
The Company supports the principles of ASPAC and the development
of independent principles of soil, plant and water analysis for quality
results and interpretation.
OBJECTIVES
OF ASPAC

Provide a national and international focus for
promoting excellence in all aspects of soil and plant analysis.

Encourage and promote the adoption of preferred
methods and protocols used in soil and plant analysis within Australia.

Facilitate national and international communication.
-
Stimulate training, research and development in soil and plant analysis.
ACTIVITIES
The Council membership meets every six months to progress Council business.
At least one of the meetings each year is in person. In addition,
ASPAC:

Conducts regular National Quality Assurance
Programmes to enhance standards of analysis and assist standardisation of soil
and plant analytical methods across laboratories. The Council provides
accreditation to those laboratories which achieve satisfactory performance
standards.

Promotes the need for soil and plant analysis to
end-users such as farmers, graziers, foresters and horticulturists.

Publishes a newsletter regularly. From time to time,
it commissions the preparation and publication of handbooks, reviews and
bibliographies relevant to field sampling, laboratory analysis, interpretation
of test data and the provision of nutritional advice and pollution guidelines
to clients.

The Council also promotes the adoption of uniform
technology and terminology in soil and plant analysis.

Conducts conferences, workshops, training courses and
seminars on soil and plant testing and encourages wider participation of the
public in understanding the need for soil and plant analysis.

Supports relevant research, encourages collaborative
research amongst its members and identifies industry and client
needs.
